Switch – Symphony (Feat. Dillon Chase)

Switch – Symphony (Feat. Dillon Chase)

4 weeks at #1 on the Billboard charts

Veteran Christian Hip Hop artist Dillon Chase teamed up with the Oklahoma student ministry band Switch, topping the Billboard charts at #1 for the past 4 weeks. The song was released in January 2019 and since has had huge success, spinning on Christian Hit Radio formats around the United States.

“I grew up holding on to bitterness, anger, and shame. Growing up in a home wrecked with drug and alcohol addiction produced a disconnect with the goodness of God and the harshness of life. Music was a coping mechanism, and I created as a survival instinct.

In 2004, after being taken in by a christian family, I recognized the most broken part of my story was…me. My sin had wrecked my life. I joyfully lost shame, hurt, sin, anger, and more the day I chose to follow Christ. This is what it means to be a joyful loser.

Since then I’ve used my gifts to exalt Jesus and discuss life through a biblical worldview. I’ve been married 13 years, have 4 beautiful children, and my oldest son travels with me full time as my DJ.” From Dillon’s website (https://www.dillonchasemusic.com)

Dillon is featured the song Symphony, on the student band Switch’s single, and has been at #1 for 4 weeks in a row on the Billboard Charts under the Christian Hot AC/Christian Hit Radio charts:

Los Angeles, CA (January 25, 2019) — The new album by Life.Church’s Switch, titled Symphony (DREAM Records), is now available for pre-order on iTunes. Along with the album pre-order, fans will receive the radio single and title track “Symphony (feat. Dillon Chase)” instantly. The single will also be available as a MAXI Single on Apple Music. The full album releases Friday, Feb. 8.

“Sometimes we experience chaos, hurt and pain in our lives. Even when we don’t understand it, we can trust that God is weaving together a beautiful symphony. That’s what this album is all about,” said JT Murrell, who oversees worship and album production at Life.Church. “These songs will help people drown out what doesn’t matter so they can focus on Jesus. Our hope is that they play them in the moments where they feel out of control so they’re reminded of God’s grace.”

LYRICS
V1:
Sometimes it’s hard to breathe
All these thoughts that shout at me
Try to bring me to my knees
And it’s overwhelming
Darkness echoes all around
Feels like everything is crashing down
Still I know where my hope is found
And it’s only You

Pre:
Oooooooh
You say You’re working Everything for my good, and
Oooooooh
I believe every word

Ch
‘Cause even in the madness
There is peace
Drowning out the voices all around me
Through all of this chaos
You are writing a symphony
A Symphony
And even in the madness
There is peace
Drowning out the voices all around me
Through all of this chaos
You are writing a symphony
A Symphony

V2:
Tune my heart to your beat
Let me be your melody
Even when I cannot see
What you’re orchestrating
Even when the dark surrounds
You’ll never let me drown
I know that my hope is found In the name of Jesus

RAP:

“I wanna truly know
if you compose
beautiful
music though
from all my unruly notes
The distance is dissonance
move in close
Now I see erased the scales from eyes
Then played the scale of my life
Chaos played off with a chord in accord
With the source prevailing through strife
And I’ve tasted suffering
I’ve been embraced by the painful buffering
I Been bound by doubts so loud right now
But a melody is made when you play these rusty keys
So we all gotta get pressed
Tuned up like instruments
But I know
All of life’s tempo is set
Whenever we remember this
